Wild Anatolia 2020
WILD ANATOLIA
Wild Anatolia series seeks to create landscapes composed of remnants, spaces of stagnation and places of destruction. As a counterpoint to ruination, each painting in the series also foregrounds particular animal figures that have central significance within pagan and Christian traditions. Using these symbolic religious figures, the artist reconstructs the often romanticised Anatolian landscape as a jungle of war, death and power.
